Christmas "Angel Tree"
At Christmastime each year our congregation collects gifts for children who are then currently residing in the Children’s Emergency Shelter or in local foster homes. Separated from parents and families these children often experience minimal holiday festivities and few gifts. Names and “gift wishes” are written on paper “ornaments” and displayed on a “giving tree” placed near our church entrance, usually in late November. Chosen at random, or in response to a specific child’s request, gifts purchased are returned to the church and placed under the tree. In celebration of Christ’s birth, all gifts are delivered in time to brighten a forlorn heart with the blessings of being remembered and loved.
