Advent Spiral
Saturday, December 20, 6 pm, Fireside

Our Advent Spiral is based on a Waldorf tradition that symbolizes finding light in the darkness of winter, performed on or around the winter solstice. It involves creating a spiral path with evergreen boughs, placing a large candle in the center, and having each person walk the spiral alone to light a candle, which they then place along the path. This creates a beautiful display of light as the path brightens with each person's contribution.

Volunteers Needed!
Salvation Army Bell Ringers Wanted!
It's a time for giving spirit folks at the church on the hill are known for. We have filled the calendar every year. We don't want to drop the ball this year as we round third and head home.
There are only 6 time slots left--We can do this!
We start the following Monday. Slots to fill are: Tuesday 5:00-6:00, Thursday 5:00-6:00, Friday 9:00-11:00, 11:00-1:00, 1:00-3:00, and 3:00-5:00.
Five to six at night is a golden opportunity as the store is the busiest. It may be a little chilly, so do bundle up and help fill that bucket. And Friday is the busiest shopping day of the week.
Please contact Dick Cerruti to sign up.

Christmas Miracle Tree Gift Tag Program:
First Congregational Church is again participating in the Christmas Miracle Tree
Gift Tag Program supporting the Placer County Children's System of Care. This year the need is great, there are over 800 children in these programs, and for some these might be the only gifts they receive for Christmas. The Christmas Miracle Tree will be in the Narthex beginning Sunday, November 23. Please pick a tag off the Tree and be sure to give your tag # and contact info to our BOCM member so we can keep track of pending gifts. All gifts should be brought to the church unwrapped and with the gift tag affixed no later than December 7th to be picked up by the program representative. If your gift tag has more than one gift request, please put all the gifts in one bag with the gift tag attached so we can assure all the gifts make it to the correct child.
This year we also asking for donations of gift wrap, any size gift bags, bows, ribbon, gift tags, scissors and tape to help defray the cost of wrapping all the gifts. There will be a separate box in the Narthex for these donations.
Thank you in advance for your help getting Christmas gifts to these children!!
Breakfast Volunteers:
We are always looking for volunteers and our Sunday morning cooking is a great fellowship time. Anyone interested in hall setup, meal prep, cooking, or cleanup please contact Dave Glover. Anyone can join in: men, women, youth – cooking experience not required!
Mix & Mingle Volunteers:
Thank you again to all of our Mix and Mingle volunteers who continue to make our weekly gathering such a success. While we have, for years, relied on two persons each Sunday, beginning in January, we hope to have an optional third person assist. That third person may just volunteer to bring cookies/treats or they could assist with prep and cleanup as well. Everyone enjoys our Mix and Mingle, but we just need a bit more help. Please contact Theresa Roeder if you are able to help us once or twice in the coming year. Thank you so
much!
Sunday School Volunteers:
We're looking for spare hands to help with Sunday School as an aide. Our goal is to have a group of folks so that individuals will be helping once every three months or so. Men and women, young and old, it's your chance to hang for about 45 minutes with some of the funnest folks at church! Please stop by Pilgrim Hall before or after church for more information.
