Do words like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder make you uneasy?

Do you associate people with schizophrenia with violence?

Do you assume a person with Bipolar disorder has an unmanageable illness?

Do you have other questions—or assumptions—about mental illness?

Join us for “In Our Own Voice,” a presentation by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), offering personal insight into mental health through three simple questions:

• What happened?
• What helps?
• What’s next?

Presented by your WISE Team (FCC Mental Health Committee), featuring Barbara Thompson (NAMI Santa Clara County) and Gayla Hibbert (NAMI Placer County and FCC member).

Come dispel some of your fears!

Volunteers Needed!

Breakfast Volunteers:

We are always looking for volunteers and our Sunday morning cooking is a great fellowship time.  Anyone interested in hall setup, meal prep, cooking, or cleanup please contact Dave Glover. Anyone can join in: men, women, youth – cooking experience not required!

Mix & Mingle Volunteers:

Thank you again to all of our Mix and Mingle volunteers who continue to make our weekly gathering such a success. While we have, for years, relied on two persons each Sunday, beginning in January, we hope to have an optional third person assist. That third person may just volunteer to bring cookies/treats or they could assist with prep and cleanup as well. Everyone enjoys our Mix and Mingle, but we just need a bit more help. Please contact Theresa Roeder if you are able to help us once or twice in the coming year. Thank you so
much!

Sunday School Volunteers:

We're looking for spare hands to help with Sunday School as an aide. Our goal is to have a group of folks so that individuals will be helping once every three months or so. Men and women, young and old, it's your chance to hang for about 45 minutes with some of the funnest folks at church! Please stop by Pilgrim Hall before or after church for more information.
