What Is The Charitable Trust?

The founding of the Charitable Trust was prompted this past year, when the Auburn Ravine Terrace property was sold. The purpose of the Charitable Trust is to continue the legacy created by church members as outlined in Article VIII of their articles of incorporation formed in 1975 for the future development of Auburn Ravine Terrace:

“Upon the dissolution or winding up of the corporation, the assets remaining after payment or provision for payment of all debts and liabilities of this corporation shall be distributed to a nonprofit fund, foundation or corporation which is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes, and which has established its tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.”

The purpose of the Charitable Trust is distinctly different from that of the Board of Community Ministries in the following ways:

  • All recipient organizations must be tax-exempt/501(c)(3)

  • All recipient organizations must be within the Greater Auburn Area

  • Funds in the Charitable Trust are invested and managed according to specific parameters by the financial directors

  • Yearly gifts from the Charitable Trust will be 4% of the investment balance

  • Potential gift recipient ideas from the FCC Congregation are taken into consideration

  • Placer High School music and performing arts students was established as part of theIn homage to our beloved pianist of 25 years, the Jane Roach Memorial Scholarship for Charitable Trust’s yearly gifts
